Moon lander and return

A Moon lander is a spacecraft designed to travel from Earth to the Moon and safely land on its surface. It carries scientific instruments, cameras, computers, and sometimes a rover or other equipment. The lander first travels through space and enters an orbit around the Moon. Then it carefully reduces its speed and begins its descent toward the surface. During landing, engines and computers help control its speed and position so that it can touch down safely. Once on the Moon, a lander can study the surface, soil, rocks, temperature, and environment. It can also take photographs and send scientific information back to Earth using radio signals. Some landers carry rovers that drive around and explore areas that the lander itself cannot reach.
